International Nurses Day 2022

Nurses assess and observe patients, help doctors create a care plan and carry out that care plan with medication and treatment administration. Nurses use a variety of medical equipment for both monitoring and performing treatments. We celebrated Nurses Day in our school on 12th May. This year the theme for Nurses Day was 'Nurses: A Voice to Lead – Invest in Nursing and respect rights to secure global health.'

Nurses play an essential role in providing care for patients to help manage their physical needs, treat health conditions and prevent illnesses. The celebration marked a special assembly in the school premises which  started with the recitation of the Holy Quran. The nurses from Maradhoo Health Centre were the guests of honour. And they were welcomed by the Principal.

Aishath Aneega Suruhaab of Grade 9A gave a speech on the importance of celebrating Nurses Day. She stressed the qualities and roles of Nurses and their duties in society.
She also emphasized the importance of nurses in the effective functioning of the health care system across the world.

The nurses were honoured with a token of appreciation by our Principal after which they cut a cake to celebrate and rejoice. The celebration ended with a photo session. Our school band performed at a special rendezvous in honour of Nurses Day held at Irushaddiyya School.

It is true what they say, 'If you save a life you are a hero, if you save a life every day you are a nurse'.
