Decades back, the school was founded by an individual who had a great
passion for education and educating the people of the island. Thus, the school
started functioning with few students and one or two local teachers. The
founding of the school had brought a ray of hope to many parents who were
desperately waiting for such an opportunity for their beloved children.
Although the school had run under
different names in different locations, its job of serving the nation remained
unchanged. The school had been running as a public school over a period of 24 years,
and during this time period, it faced many challenges and obstacles financially
and infrastructurally. Overcame every challenge that it faced, Maradhoo School
accomplished its 24 years’ service as a well-known institution of the atoll.
In its 25th year of service, the government of Maldives
started funding the school, and to date, it has been running as a government school. During the years the school has evolved into a better institution
under various leaderships. At present, the population of the school is around 400 and the staff includes around 60 members, and 90% of our teachers are
highly qualified. In fact, with great effort and hard work of academic
and administrative staff, the school succeeds to move forward at a competitive
level. At present, the school is entitled to cater classes K-10.
Today, Maradhoo School is one of the leading schools in the
city, with the slogan of #TheSchoolOfExcellence and we are proud to say that our school takes a step ahead every year.
Our love and respect for the founder of Maradhoo School, Mr. Moosa Wajdhee
is immense, for lighting up the lives of many generations through education.
