A Day of Sorrow

Our community sadly lost a pillar tonight. It is with extreme regret and great sadness we inform that Mr. Moosa Wajdhee, the founder of our school has passed away. May Allah bless Mr. Wajdhee with the best place in Jannah. May Allah forgive his shortcomings and reward him immensely for his struggles and sacrifices for establishing an institute of education in the Maradhoo community. May Allah let us all learn from Mr. Wajdhee's example of the steadfastness of faith in all circumstances and commitment to and love for Allah in the truest sense.

Mr. Wajdhee will be lovingly remembered by his wife, children, and grandchildren. His eldest son Mr. Ibrahim Shareef is a Member of Parliament representing the Maradhoo Constituency and he is one of the few members in the Parliament with more than 16 years of service. His daughter Ms. Juwayria Wajdhee is a renowned chef, author, and the Vice President of the Addu Women's Associaton. His other daughter Ms. Moomina Wajdhee has been working at our school as a Leading Teacher and has given her valuable service to our school for more than 35 years.

We will miss Mr. Wajdhee for his compassion and passion. He was not only the founder of the school but an extremely generous human who reformed and uplifted many. As members of Maradhoo School, it is important that we continue his legacy of kindness, loyalty, and compassion by keeping his dream of educating the Maradhoo community in the same fashion. We ask that everyone remembers Mr. Wajdhee and his family in their prayers. May Allah comfort his family in their grief and loss.
