TRIP TO THE FABLED FUVAHMULAH CITY

Last week, 19 students of Maradhoo School’s grade 10 batch went on an exposure trip to Fuvamulak city. The city renowned for its white sandy beaches, pristine turquoise waters and unique underwater marine and home to the renowned Thoondu and Koda Kilhi. The change in environment had altered our perspective towards the upcoming o'level exam.

The second we found ourselves on the rough sea knowing we were going to a city which was going to be our home for 6 days, a feeling of excitement rushed through our veins. We were accompanied by dolphins, flying fishes and such marine life. I felt as if I had found ‘Nemo’ before I stepped into the great water. we were warmly welcomed with garden-fresh flowers and delectable coconut water to quench our thirst.

We Visited Mohamed Jamaaludheen School and Hafiz Ahmed School where they gave us school tours and shared information of their school activities with us. Along with this, the highly skilled teachers of GN Atoll Education Centre shared their profound knowledge with us. Teaching and treating us as if we were their very own students. Moreover, we also had the chance to visit the famous Baba Gaadiya where we learned about how it is operated and how electricity is conducted to it with the use of solar panels.

On behalf of grade 10 students and our school, I thank Mohammed Jamaaludheen School, Hafiz Ahmed School, GN Atoll Education Centre and Baba Gaadiya for the kindness and hospitality shown towards us. Without a shadow of doubt, visiting these schools and the city itself has enlightened us about their impeccable hospitality.

This trip has loosened our nerves from all the stress and sharpened our minds at the same time. Meeting old friends and teachers. It was a city with an aura of nostalgia. Not only was this trip informative, but it also filled the breeze around us with laughter and refreshed our mindsets.

Maybe next time we can return to the same city after o’level, deeply satisfied and content about our results after making our hardworking teachers and parents proud, In Sha Allah.
