The Republic of Maldives withdrew from the Commonwealth of Nations on 13th October, 2016. The Foreign Ministry of Maldives had many reasons to withdraw from the organisation. On 1st February, 2020 Maldives re-joined commonwealth successfully with the consent from all member nations of the Commonwealth.
With the reference from the Ministry of Education, Maradhoo School had hosted an event to celebrate the return of Maldives to the Commonwealth, which was headed by grade 6B class teacher, Ms. Fathimath Shabeena. She co-ordinated grade 6B students to show a representation of about, twenty present members in the Commonwealth.
The selected students were holding the respective national flags in their hand of the country that they were chosen to represent. They gave a descriptive speech on some interesting facts about these nations. Some students were in the traditional attire of the nations that they represented. As it was visually appealing it grasped the complete attention of students and teachers alike towards the event.
This event had a great impression on the mind of students towards the day to day developments happening around the globe especially in their nation. It also developed their general knowledge about the Commonwealth, the countries that are part of it. And also many facts about these countries.
