My Experience of the New Normal

Last year, a deadly contagious disease spread throughout the world. The effects were life-concerning and abundant health precautions were taken. Countries announced lockdowns and people stayed at home. A new health precaution was placed and going outside without a mask and interacting with people was banned. Many changes were made and it affected our daily lives. One of the biggest changes was concerning our education.

Schools closing left a huge patch in our education. The Health Protection  Agency wanted to make sure that we got education without any barriers. Hence, online classes were organized. The online classes did cover the missed lessons but, it didn’t help as much as the physical classes in my opinion. The online classes were much harder to concentrate and I found myself often lost. It was much harder to participate in the lessons. The physical classes made me feel free and relaxed.

The ministry noticed that the spread of the pandemic was reducing so schools were reopened. The new normal was introduced and I for one was not too happy about it. The new normal meant we couldn’t hang out with others much and I was looking forward to talking to my friends. But the new normal made it hard as we all are in different classes. Other than that, the mask was very annoying. However, on the bright side the school was just the same as always. Full of energy and hopes.

Though I don't really hate the new normal the way I despise the pandemic, what upsets me is that most of the time events like prefect picnics or festivals I look forward to gets cancelled at the last minute. It always ruins my mood. I look forward to activities and I like to participate in programs, the covid-19 made things a bit harder but I try to stay positive and live on. I follow the heath protocols and hope you do too.
